The true cost｜時尚代價
Recently I watched a sweeping documentary movie called The true cost, which points out the real problems behind the system of outsourcing. The director - Andrew Morgen is trying to present the real cost of fast fashion to audiences by exploring deeper scope of supply chain in everywhere of the world. Through the scenes, we figure out what the problems existed and how they happened step by step to track back what goes wrong during the manufacturing process.
最近筆者看了一部紀錄片- The true cost (中譯時尚代價)，片中道出跨國外包製造所產生的問題。導演Andrew Morgen走遍全世界的供應鏈，將平價時尚背後所犧牲的真實成本呈現給觀眾。從鏡頭裡看見的各個角落，可以追朔外包系統的問題出在哪？ 問題源是什麼？逐步引領觀眾了解整個製程哪裡出了問題。
This movie reminds me the time when I worked for a sourcing company. As a role of merchandiser, we always concerned two elements - "price and lead time". Does the supplier meet our target price? When is the soonest lead time for bulk? We never considered that how their working condition is. Are any worker forced to work over time in order to meet our short lead time? Although I am involved in this merchant of souring suitable manufacturer, I can't promise the factory I collaborate with has totally ethical manufacture processes, not to mention consumers who could know if the product is produced ethically or not.
同時，這部紀錄片也讓我想起之前在採購公司工作的情景。採購人員這個角色無非是以"價格及交期"至上，供應商是否能做到目標價格？大貨的最快交期是什麼時候？我們不曾考量過這些因素是否間接的造就了他們那些所謂的"惡劣的工作環境"及"超時加班"。即便我的工作是在第一線尋找適合的供應商，但我仍不能保證我手邊的工廠是完全道德的製程，更不用說消費者是否知道商品被滲透了黑心製造。
It is worthwhile to have a look and enable us to engage in the real transparent process of fast fashion.
